‘frail’ is parallel’s first album released under the budding indie label ‘nothing special.’, founded by popular slowcore artist porch kiss. This project is short and sweet with 10 tracks (including a collaboration with NYC artist ‘Total’ that span from soft folk to shoegaze-y indie. ‘frail’ creates a vulnerable and introspective space for the listener where they can feel heard. The album charts Marty’s path from growing up around addiction, experiencing loneliness and self-doubt, and most recently, falling in love for the first time. It’s a story of raw pain, resolution, hope, and young love. An homage to parallel’s five-year history, Marty seamlessly blends the old with the new in ‘frail;’ highlighting his refined songwriting chops while maintaining his roots in sound production. The album is rendered an even more intimate experience due to the fact that it was fully created in Marty’s haven: a studio apartment in Montréal.
